Have you ever found yourself at a table with that player that is in every pot and raising and re-raising way to many hands?  Now if you play poker at all I am sure you have.  So how do you beat this player?  Before I go to far maybe you are this player and if you are winning more power to you if not, it may be time for a change.

First you need to understand this player.  There are really two types of players that play manic or crazy.  One is the warrior or the Alfa male.  This player loves confrontation and the thrill of battle.  That is what drives them to play this way (manic).  Now on the other hand there are players that can play this crazy aggressive style and win.  They are not driven by confrontation but situation.  These players are good at reading other players and using there aggression and crazy style to win.  You have to watch out for this player. They are few to the many manic players out there but the Guss Hanson's are at the tables to.

Lets get back to the manic warrior and how to defeat them.  The thing about a wild player is they can have a hand sometimes to.  First you have to really study the player.  If you can identify when they are weak that is your first step.  Watch for there moves on the flop and turn.  Per there aggressive style it will be hard to find when they are weak.  They will be betting a lot but I find a lot of the time a cretin bet or move they make shows weakness. This could be an over bet, a min bet, a pot bet, a check or something else like how long it took to bet.  The manic should be calling and raising so many hands you should be able to see there cards at the showdown often.  You will have to use that information and replay the hand in your head and identify how they acted with a good hand and a bad hand.  Again it may be hard to identify there weakness but if you pick the right spot the manic will pay you off.  This is because there warrior mentality is also a weakness.  What you are looking for is a heads up situation with the manic and a very favorable flop.  By favorable I mean trips or better.  The spot you pick to go at the manic needs to be a good one because they could have anything.  What you need to do is attack that warrior mentality.  You need to challenge them and call them to the battle field.  Sometimes you do this with chat and always with chips.  Raise and re raise them.  More times then not they will pay you off and you can rake in a large pot.  Don't be in a hurry to attack them. I want to stress that picking the right spot to attack the manic or wild player is vital.  Remember they can have a hand sometimes to. Have some kind of read and a big flop (not just AA in hand and a rag flop) as I said earlier trips or better.  Know your hand is best and challenge the manic.
