There are 52 cards in a standard deck of cards, and the ranking or value of the individual cards, from high to low, is ace, king, queen, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. There is no ranking or difference in value between suits - Example the king of diamonds and the king of spades are equal. Your best hand in poker consists of five cards. In poker games where you have more than five cards you selects five to form your best poker hand, your remaining cards do not play any part in the ranking.
The cards and or there values or suits in your hand can vary but the combination of cards needs to match the above combinations
Knowing what the best hand is on the flop, turn, and river is vital to playing good poker. You must evaluate each card and figure out what the best possible hand is. Having a flush and thinking you only have top pair could cost you lots of money. Memorize the hand rankings. Knowing what the nuts are or the best 2 cards to have is a skill you must have to be a poker player.
