Today is the day I have made a decision.  Today will be the day I look back on and say to myself That was the moment.  You see, I have come to the conclusion that I will no longer make a deposit to play online poker.  I will not lose all of my money.  I will not lack discipline, or patience, or internal fortitude.  I will make the effort to learn what I need to know to become a winning poker player.  I will seek out resources online to become once and for all a winner at the table.  My goal is simple;  I will deposit $ 25.00 and will build my bankroll to over $500.00.   Will I stop at $500, no.  But I figure when I get to that amount I will have made more than I have ever deposited in my 5 years of playing online poker.  You see, I want to play at the World Series of Poker one day.  I want to go to the Caribbean to play in a WPT event.  I want to sit across the table from Daniel Negraneu, or Phil Hellmuth, or Johnny Chan and not fold when he raises me all-in.  But these dreams of a poker player are far from reality until I decide that I will see hundreds of thousands of hands before I get the privilege to play just one hand against a poker great.  So again, the goal here is to win $ 500 small dollars.  I welcome you to follow my journey as I will attempt to develop a system of bankroll growth that minimizes risk of losing everything while maximizing my potential outcome.

So here is the game;

Pokerstars has a $ 2.20, 36 player qualifier to the Sunday 1/4 million tournament.  The top six players win a ticket worth $ 11.00 to the tournament.  Seventh place wins $ 6.00 cash.  Because this is a turbo tournament that is only 36 players and the top 16% win, you can play this tournament in less than an hour (about 52 minutes to be exact).  When you do win, you may unregister from the tournament for $ 11.00 tournament dollars.  My plan is to build my bankroll up to $ 500.00 tournament dollars.  Now some of you may ask why trade real money for tournament dollars?  That is a good question and I will further explain why after I get to that amount, but for now I will simply say that my long term goals include playing in and winning higher dollar tournaments.  I will track relevant data pertaining to the tournament including length of tournament, wins/losses, and what hand I went out on (if any).  Once the forum is up and running, you will be able to comment on my progress, offer advice, ask questions, or make general comments concerning your own ventures in the game.  I am looking forward to this journey and hope you enjoy it like I will.
